We were delighted to sponsor the inaugural Wilmslow Art Trail which took place on 20^th and 21^st September. The Art Trail brought together 29 artists from the Wilmslow area, demonstrating a range of disciplines from painting, sculpture and textile art to furniture and ceramics. The artists’ work was exhibited across 17 venues in Wilmslow, including restaurants, churches, pubs, cafes and shops.

The Art Trail was the brainchild of Garry Olson of Garry Olson Furniture, a local craftsman. Garry was supported in the organisation of the Trail by a number of the artists, and the Wilmslow Business Group Events Team. Garry and the team devised an Art Trail map which could be followed on foot or by bike.

The event was a huge success, bringing masses of people into Wilmslow. Everywhere you looked you could see people wandering around the town with their Art Trail map and programme in hand. Many of the artists sold pieces; and the venues saw an increase in customers over the weekend.

The Castletons team enjoyed the Art Trail so much that we are now exhibiting one of the artists’ work in our office. The artist is Pietra Castellani, who is an English-Italian artist. Her work is influenced heavily by both cultures. She currently paints in acrylics and her collection includes paintings of fish, seascapes, flowers and abstract pieces.
